/ Support Insulators
Reliable Insulation for Electrical Power Equipment
Support insulators are designed to provide electrical insulation and mechanical support for current-carrying components in electrical equipment.
They are widely used in electrical apparatus, switchgear, distribution systems, substations, and other power engineering applications where reliable insulation and secure mechanical support are essential.
We offer porcelain and polymer support insulators for a wide range of electrical applications. Our approach is focused on helping customers select the right solution according to their equipment requirements, operating conditions, and technical specifications.
/ Insulation You Can Rely On
Support insulators perform two essential functions within electrical equipment: they electrically isolate conductive components while also providing the mechanical support required to keep them securely positioned.
This combination makes support insulators an important component of electrical installations where insulation performance, mechanical stability, and dependable operation are required.
Designed to electrically isolate current-carrying components from grounded structures and other conductive parts of electrical equipment.
Provides stable mechanical support for busbars and other conductive components within electrical installations and equipment.
Suitable for use across a broad range of electrical equipment, including switchgear, electrical apparatus, distribution systems, and substations.
Porcelain or Polymer?
Two Materials. One Essential Purpose.
Different applications require different insulation solutions. We supply support insulators manufactured from porcelain and polymer materials, allowing the appropriate solution to be selected according to the requirements of a particular installation or project.
Porcelain Support Insulators
Porcelain has a long history of use as an electrical insulating material and continues to be widely applied in electrical equipment.
Porcelain support insulators combine electrical insulation with the mechanical strength required to support conductive components. Electrical porcelain provides insulating, mechanical, and thermal properties suitable for electrical applications.
The surface of porcelain insulators can also be glazed, providing a smooth finished surface and helping reduce surface contamination.
Porcelain support insulators are available in different configurations to meet the requirements of various electrical installations.
Polymer Support Insulators
Polymer support insulators provide an alternative solution for electrical insulation and mechanical support in modern electrical equipment.
They are available in different designs and configurations, allowing solutions to be selected according to the electrical, mechanical, dimensional, and installation requirements of a particular application.
Our polymer support insulator range can be supplied for various power engineering applications and equipment.
/ Manufacturing & Quality
The performance of a support insulator begins with its design, materials, manufacturing quality, and verification of the finished product.
Whether manufactured from porcelain or polymer materials, support insulators require consistent production processes and careful attention to dimensional, electrical, and mechanical characteristics.
Our approach is focused on supplying products that meet the specified requirements of the application and are supported by the appropriate technical documentation.
From material selection and manufacturing to inspection and final verification, attention to quality remains essential throughout the process.
/ Standards & Compliance
Support insulators are covered by different international standards depending on their material, construction, voltage range, and intended application.
For ceramic and glass post insulators, IEC 60168 covers tests for indoor and outdoor post insulators used in AC installations or equipment with nominal voltages above 1,000 V. IEC 60168:1994
For composite station post insulators, IEC 62231 defines test methods and acceptance criteria for specific composite designs intended for substations with AC voltages greater than 1,000 V and up to 245 kV. IEC 62231:2006
The applicable standard should therefore be determined according to the specific product and application.
